This Tonka-tough little (well, not-so-little) RC car is a real kick to play with. It would make a great gift for a birthday or on Christmas - it is already charged a bit and ready to go. It includes the 9v battery for the controller and the Lithium Ion battery for the car, as well as the charger. Considering it uses a radio receiver and runs high power motor, the 15 minute time you have to use it is a pretty good run. It will take another 30 minutes to fully charge the Lithium battery between playtimes. I have 2 dogs, one of which has never played with a toy in her 10 years - until I presented them with this vehicle. The normally playful terrier who usually loves toys was afraid of the car, but my other dog, who shuns toys as 'beneath her dignity' had a lot of fun chasing this car around trees in our yard. We're on an acre with over 100 trees and lots of leaf and branch litter on the ground... and our driveway is unpaved - simply caliche rock - but this RC vehicle had no... Overall, I really like the Tonka Ricochet. My six-year-old son and I had a lot of fun driving it around the neighborhood, doing off-road, jumping makeshift ramps, scaring the neighborhood cats, etc. It's a simple control vehicle -- not the finest controls in the world, but it's all responsive and works -- and it has a good range. The battery pack, once its fully charged, seems to last a decent length of time, too. The booklet said a full charge should last about 15 minutes, but that must be 15 minutes of continuous wheel turning; we clocked in a good 30 minutes of normal driving one time, and it still had some juice left. My complaints about this are mainly technical. Specifically, the battery back, which is removable only by unscrewing a plate and then trying to unplug a very tight plug connector. It's unnecessarily difficult, especially for a child, to have to do this after each use (which is more or less how often you'll want to charge it, after each full play... My 6 year old nephew loves this and I will have to admit I had a lot of fun with it too. Sorry for the horrible audio in my video - between the 30 MPH wind we had today and my incessant cackling at watching him play, it might be better to mute this! :) The grass was parched and dry from no rain, there were obstacles such as small rocks, yet this truck made it through the course almost 100% of the time. I think we got stuck just twice in loose dirt on a slight incline. My nephew set up a make-shift ramp made of thick 1" bark from a walnut tree that was recently cut down; the Tonka vehicle broke the piece of bark in half with no damage at all to the truck. After I shot this video, we went to the front yard and ran it up & down the street - the range is decent, I think we had it 3 to 4 homes away before the truck didn't recognize the signal from the controller.
